Rumours of a GTA Remastered Trilogy, consisting of GTA III, Vice City & San Andreas, have been circling for some time. These rumours picked up pace in the past week or so due to the Take-Two earnings call in which they listed three unannounced Remaster titles in their development pipeline.
Kotaku has now published an article where they have claimed that their sources have informed them that the GTA Remaster Trilogy is very much real and being developed by Rockstar Dundee. They also go on to state that the GTA Remastered Trilogy is being developed for Stadia alongside other platforms. Kotaku also goes on to say that their sources have a 'reliable track record' and they have previously passed them information in regards to both GTA Online and Red Dead Online, weeks and months in advance.
Further information from the article states the Remastered Trilogy will have a mix of both improved and original visuals and the gameplay will be trying to stay as true to the PS2 titles as much as possible.
Kotaku continues on to say the plans for the Remastered Trilogy have changed several times during the global pandemic but as it stands currently, the Remastered Trilogy is set to launch in October or early November of this year.
However, plans have changed again, and now the remastered titles are planned to launch around late October or early November for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PC, Stadia, and mobile phones.
On top of this, Rockstar is also currently working on next-gen ports of Grand Theft Auto V and are considering doing the same for Red Dead Redemption, although there is no mention of these titles coming to Stadia.
