Recently someone made a discovery of how to play Stadia on your non-Pixel mobile phones, the method however involved a lot of dangerous techniques which could result in your mobile being damaged if you weren't careful - as such we chose not to reveal how it was done.

It has been known for a little while now that Stadia can be run on non-Pixel phones via the Chrome Browser if you put it into Desktop Mode. However there has been some difficulties getting controllers to work - until now. Someone over at Reddit (source at end of article) posted a nifty little trick that you can do to Chrome to get an Xbox controller working wirelessly through Bluetooth on your mobile. And it doesn't involve any uncouth tampering. Here's how.

- Connect your controller to your mobile via Bluetooth,

- Once connected. make sure that the controller is set to be an input device as shown below:

- Launch Google Chrome on your mobile and browse to the following page: https://stadia.google.com

- As shown below, click the three dots in the top right and make sure 'Desktop Mode' is selected.

- Copy and Paste the following code into the address bar, whilst on the Stadia screen, and hit Enter

You should now be able to control Stadia from your mobile. As you'll see from the video below, I had it working flawlessly on my Samsung Galaxy S9 - the only gripe was that the guide button took me back to my home screen, but that's tolerable.

Please note that this has only been tried with an Xbox Controller via Bluetooth. If anyone has any success using other controllers or phones then please let us know in the comments and we will update this article.

Also make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi point so as not to eat through your data!
