Stadia Source Update - Achievement Tracking, Leaderboards and New Companion App for Chrome
January 27, 2021 - 22:54 6Hi, it's Dan here, founder and creator of Stadia Source - I'd like to address you personally for this update as I hope it will bring as much excitement to you as it does to me to bring you this news.
Ever since I saw the very first Connect in which Stadia was first unveiled, I knew that I wanted to make a website surrouding Google Stadia, and chief among those ideas was to have some sort of Achievement Tracking, Guide/Walkthrough system and a Leaderboards feature. I made a big assumption that Stadia would incorporate some sort of Achievement-like system (since most platforms do nowadays) - and lo and behold... they did.
I've personally worked, and continue to work, tirelessly to make sure the website has the most up-to-date Achievement lists as possible - for every game. I've also implemented a way in which people can submit guides to help others earn those harder-to-get Achievements, and a way to rate them on how useful they are.
And I am more than happy to finally unveil the three latest advancements in this goal to bring Achievements to life on Stadia Source.
Achievement Tracking
Stadia Source can now track your Games and Achievements, allowing other users to view your profile and see what games you have, and what Achievements you've unlocked within them.
Providing that your profile on Stadia.com is set to public, and that you have provided us with your Stadia Gamertag in your profile - we have a scanner that will scan your Stadia profile once a day and update your profile here on the website. If you have already done this, you'll more than likely find that your profile has already started to populate with data about your games and Achievements.
You can also search for any player, including yourself, and view games and Achievements. You can filter and sort them to find just what you are looking for.

Stadia Source Companion App
As mentioned above, we have scanners that can update your games and Achievements on the site automatically... but given the number of people we have here on the site, we can only scan your profile once a day - on top of this, we cannot see any of the Secret Achievements that you have unlocked - meaning your profile may be slightly incorrect in terms of the amount of Achievements you've earned.
That's where our new Companion App comes in... this is a new Google Chrome / Edge Extension which you can add onto your browser. Once enabled, the extension will automatically scan your profile once every 30 minutes in the background - not only does this mean that your profile will be more up to date and faster, but it also allows us to obtain the Secret Achievements that you've earned thus making your profile more accurate.
We understand you may have some questions or concerns about the app, which is why we've created a handy page to hopefully answer some of those questions and address those concerns before you decide to download the extension. You can find the page here: Stadia Source Companion App Support.
If you'd rather go straight ahead and download the extension, you can do so here:

Leaderboards
To compliment the new Achievement Tracking features, we've also included a leaderboard system that lets you see how you stack up against other gamers on the site.
There are (and will be) a few different types of leaderboards on the site:
Global Leaderboard that spans across all games and totals up all of your Achievements from them. This can be sorted by all time, this year or this month. To find this, head to the 'Achievement Hub' under 'Games' in the top Navigation Bar.
Game Leaderboards that lets you see who is top of the leaderboard for a specific game - and who completed all Achievements in it first. (This leaderboard is still in progress but will be available very soon)
Achievement Leaderboards that let's you know who obtained certain achievements first. To find these, just browse to or search for a specific Achievement where you'll find a button for the leaderboard.

We sincerely hope that you enjoy these features as they continue to grow and develop. We are also appreciative of any suggestions and feedback that you can give us that will help make them even better. We still have a lot of things we want to implement that will improve these features and we can't wait for you to see them.

And finally, a Thank You...
... to Joao of StadiaHunters.com for providing some assistance on the Companion App/Achievement Scanning. Their website offers a lot of the same as the above, and we have both helped one another with various things which have made both projects possible.
